What NYS inspectors get
NY 24-point Safety Inspection pre-loaded
The published NYS DMV safety inspection checkpoint list ships with the app — brakes, steering, lights, tires, body, glass, seatbelts, horn, wipers, fuel system, and more.
Emission inspection support
Pass/fail capture for the NYS-required emission checkpoints for gasoline and diesel vehicles, captured alongside the safety inspection record.
Sticker capture
Every inspection captures the issued sticker number with inspector name and timestamp, and auto-suggests from the previous serial. Look up any inspection by sticker number from the dashboard.
Photo capture on inspection points
Inspectors can attach photos to inspection points directly in the flow. Shop owners choose which checkpoints prompt the camera in Settings.
Inspector performance by station
Track inspections per inspector, pass rate, and average duration. Owners see productivity in real time.
Searchable inspection history
All inspection records are timestamped and stored with vehicle identifiers, the issued sticker, and any attached photos. Pull any inspection by plate, VIN, or date in seconds.
Why NYS shops switch off paper
Digital checklists, photo capture, and branded PDF reports in one flow — the same workflow every inspector runs on every vehicle. The rule book lives inside the app with NYS criteria on every checkpoint, so techs are not flipping through laminated sheets between cars.
When a customer comes back asking about a failed checkpoint, you open the record and the inspector's notes — plus any photos attached during the inspection — are right there on the customer's PDF report.
Sticker capture is built in. Every inspection records the issued sticker with the inspector name and timestamp, auto-suggested from the previous serial so entry stays fast. You can look up any sticker, plate, or VIN from the dashboard.
NYS inspection FAQ
Is this approved by the NYS DMV?+
Inspect Pro is a tool used by DMV-licensed inspection stations. The inspection station license and the inspector certifications are held by the shop — Inspect Pro is the digital platform the inspector uses to conduct and document the inspection, replacing paper checklists.
Does it support both NYS Safety and Emission inspections?+
Yes. The inspector selects the inspection type at the start and the appropriate NYS checkpoint list loads. Pass/fail and notes are captured for each emission checkpoint alongside the safety record.
Can I track which stickers have been issued?+
Yes. Every inspection records the issued sticker number with the inspector name and timestamp. You can look up any sticker number or inspection record from the dashboard.
Does Inspect Pro integrate with the NYS DMV inspection system?+
The NYS DMV inspection system is a separate required submission flow. Inspect Pro covers the inspector-facing workflow and record-keeping side. Most shops run the two side-by-side: complete the inspection in Inspect Pro with photos and customer reports, then submit the official record through the DMV system at the end of the day or inspection.
How long does NY shop onboarding take?+
A few hours. We set up your shop, add your certified NYS inspectors, and walk through your first inspection on a 15-minute call. Most shops are running real NYS inspections on Inspect Pro the same day they sign up.
Does it work on iPads and phones?+
Yes. Inspect Pro runs in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android, or desktop. Most NYS shops mount an iPad in the bay for inspection work.
