What VA inspectors get

VA Safety Inspection checklist pre-loaded

The Virginia State Police Safety Division 20-point checklist ships with the app. Inspectors see the published checkpoints and criteria inline as they work — no rule-book lookup.

Sticker capture

The sticker number is captured on every inspection and auto-suggested from the previous serial, so inspectors enter it quickly and consistently across the team.

DEQ Emission inspection workflow

Emission inspection flow for Northern Virginia DEQ-affected counties, with pass/fail capture for the published emission checkpoints.

VA inspection fee calculation

Fees are computed based on vehicle class and inspection type. Your inspector never has to look up the rate card.

Photo capture on inspection points

Inspectors can attach photos to inspection points directly in the flow. Shop owners choose which checkpoints prompt the camera in Settings.

Inspection records stored with photos

Every record is stored with timestamp, inspector name, vehicle identifiers, and any attached photos. Each inspection generates a branded PDF for the customer and shop archive.

DEQ emission inspection coverage

If your station serves any of the 10 Northern Virginia jurisdictions below, you need a system that supports both Safety and Emission inspections. Inspect Pro covers both flows out of the box.

Why VA shops switch off paper

Digital checklists, photo capture, and branded PDF reports in one flow. When a customer asks about a failed checkpoint, you pull up the record, the inspector's notes are right there, and any photos attached during the inspection are on the report.

Sticker numbers are captured on every inspection and shown on the customer's PDF report, so the issued sticker is associated with a specific record from the moment the inspection is finalized. Auto-suggestion from the previous serial keeps entry fast and consistent across inspectors.

And the rule book lives inside the app. Inline VA criteria on every checkpoint mean inspectors are not flipping through laminated sheets between cars. Branded PDF reports leave the shop with the customer the moment the inspection is finalized.

VA inspection FAQ

Is Inspect Pro approved by the Virginia State Police?+

Inspect Pro is vehicle-inspection software used inside official VSP-approved inspection stations. The station certification belongs to the shop and its inspectors — Inspect Pro is the digital tool the inspector uses to complete and document the inspection, in the same way a paper clipboard was before.

Which VA inspection types does it support?+

VA Safety inspections (annual, required statewide) and DEQ Emission inspections (required in Northern Virginia counties). The inspector selects the type at the start of the inspection and the checkpoint list adjusts accordingly.

Which counties need DEQ emission inspections?+

Emission inspections are required in 10 Northern Virginia jurisdictions: Arlington, Fairfax County, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford, Falls Church, Fairfax City, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Alexandria. Inspect Pro supports the emission flow for all of them.

Does it calculate the inspection fee?+

Yes. The fee is calculated automatically from the vehicle class and inspection type. Inspectors see the exact amount to collect before they finalize the record.

What about sticker numbers?+

The sticker number is captured on every inspection and auto-suggested from the previous serial. Once entered, it appears on the customer's branded PDF report and in the inspection history so any sticker can be looked up by record.

How fast can a VA shop onboard?+

A few hours. We set up your shop, add your certified inspectors, and walk through your first inspection on a 15-minute call. Most shops are running real VA Safety inspections on Inspect Pro the same day they sign up.
